Year 12 · WACE / Music
Prepare for a tutoring lesson.
Choose a realistic goal for a session.
Try this with Music
- Pick one topic and bring a question, an attempted answer or a short section of your notes.
- Write a goal you can check at the end, such as explaining a method or improving a response.
- Choose one independent follow-up task to try after working through the example.
Pick a starting point
- Interval recognition by ear: major, minor, perfect and tritone within an octave
- Hearing tonality, scales/modes and modulation to the relative, dominant or subdominant key
- Rhythmic dictation: simple, compound and irregular metre, grouping, rests and time signatures
- Melodic dictation up to eight bars in a major or minor key, including rubato and vibrato
- Chord progressions by ear (I, ii, iii, IV, V, V7, vi) and chord-quality recognition
- Discrepancies and aural analysis: instruments, techniques, texture, form, dynamics and articulation
Plan a sample lesson
Choose one inventory topic and a goal. This plan stays in your browser until you download it; it is not sent to a tutor.
Resource inventory inspected 4 November 2026. The main ATARMAXXING study platform is separate from tutoring. Topic labels show what was found, not a guarantee of complete curriculum coverage or tutor availability.
