Year 12 · SACE / English as an Additional Language
Prepare for a tutoring lesson.
Choose a realistic goal for a session.
Try this with English as an Additional Language
- Pick one topic and bring a question, an attempted answer or a short section of your notes.
- Write a goal you can check at the end, such as explaining a method or improving a response.
- Choose one independent follow-up task to try after working through the example.
Pick a starting point
- Section 1 format, timing and the two-listening strategy
- Note-taking from lectures and talks: keywords, numbers, names and abbreviations
- Part A task types: completing tables and diagrams, summarising and planning from a listening text
- Answering short comprehension questions precisely: marks, command words and question word order
- Context, purpose and audience in spoken texts: speeches, interviews and information sessions
- Identifying purpose and a specific target audience with evidence
